Stanley Fish's article was absolutely fantastic. I wish you'd make your current students read and discuss it.

Perhaps my favorite college classes (no offense!) were my three humanities ones- two centuries worth of art and a few more of religion. Taken in high school as dual enrollment, they were what got me excited about what a college education could really be.

Did they teach me a usable skill, or get me a job? No. But they sure did teach me about people and, perhaps more importantly, myself.</description>
